We store information about Recipes and Base Recipes. Base Recipes are simply recipes that can be included within other recipes.

When adding a Recipe the key information you should provide is:

What Recipe Group does the recipe belong to? (by putting recipes into groups they are easier to search)
How many Serves does this recipe produce? (in order to automatically generate recipe cards for different number of serves we need to know how many this recipe has been designed to create)
How many ML or MG is a single serve of this recipe?
What is the selling price per serve? (we need to know this in order to calculate financial information such as the food cost percentage)

Add the ingredients and base recipes that make up this recipe (We need to specify what items from our list of ingredient items make up this recipe).
